“Books are mirrors: you only see in them what you already have inside you.”
— Carlos Ruiz Zafón, The Shadow of the Wind.
“you can’t save a spot for everyone when it comes to your growth. as much as you may want to accommodate everyone, it’s too heavy on your spirit, too wearing. some people will seamlessly merge in the direction you’re heading in, others will have to work on themselves to reach you.”

“I used to dislike being sensitive. I thought it made me weak. But take away that single trait, and you take away the very essence of who I am. You take away my conscience, my ability to empathize, my intuition, my creativity, my deep appreciation for the little things, my vivid inner life, my deep awareness of others’ pain, and my passion for it all.”

Blythe Baird, from If My Body Could Speak; “Theories about the universe”
[Text ID: “When I want something / with my whole being, and the universe withholds it / from me, I hope the universe thinks to herself, / Silly girl. She thinks this is what she wants, / but she does not understand how it will hurt.”]
“You can not hide. The truth always comes to light. You can try to skip out on your workouts and just be online all the time. You can pretend to being doing the things you say you are doing. You can act like a person is really loving you well. But you are doing yourself a disservice by portraying a character that isn’t truthful. It will influence your subconscious energy and you will continue to attract toxic fake people into your life. Don’t get emotional about it. See life for what it is: a mental universe. Like attracts like or complementary energy such as a love-addict (one who avoids loving themselves and obsessively falls in love with others in unhealthy ways) attracting a narcissist. Your relationships with others are reflections of frequencies you are holding within. Be real with yourself. Be devoted. Rest. Oil your skin all over. Get into nature. Take care your heart. Speak love into your body. Release all the crazy shit you did yesterday without judgement and begin a new story today. Recalibrate your energy to offset your insecurities and weaknesses. Be more vulnerable. Discover something you are passionate about. Having passion flowing through your body makes you more magnetic and attractive to the universe and to people in general. And turn off these phones, computers, and electronics sometimes. Doing so will change the frequency of your life forever.”
